All our hemp is sourced from the finest quality naturally grown and Eco-friendly wild hemp plantations throughout the Himalayan regions of Northern India and Nepal. Once harvested, the handcrafted hemp production process then involves soaking the raw cannabis plant stems in water for three weeks before drying. The stems are then separated from the plant and boiled in ash water for a period prior to the raw hemp fibre then being extracted from the cannabis plant and spun into balls of hemp fibre yarn which is then used to handcraft various styles of hemp bags and other hemp fabric products on a traditional hand loom weaving machine.

Hemp fabric has many advantages including its natural moisture wicking ability. Hemp fabric can retain up to 20% of its own weight in moisture while still feeling dry to the touch. Hemp fabric is also naturally antibacterial and anti-fungal, which makes it resistant to mold and mildew. Hemp fabric is easy to wash and care for, holds its shape well and is totally 100% biodegradable.

All our hemp is naturally grown with no herbicides or pesticides used, it is a highly renewable crop requiring little water and the crop can mature in as little as 100 days with yields 200-250% higher than cotton. Hemp fabric is also exceptionally durable, being up to 8 times stronger than cotton.
